"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."-2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Lately, I have been more drawn to the theology of suffering more than anything else. This is not because I have masochistic tendencies but because the very essence of our faith was built on the pain and suffering of one man- Jesus Christ. The life of a Christian will constitute a great deal of suffering both implicitly and explicitly. Implicitly because we live in a broken world and bearing the weight of our sin alone is suffering. I state this fact not to be a party pooper but to shift our focus from the Why's to the How's. How do we deal with the day to day encounters with suffering? How does God meet us in our suffering? How do we suffer well? How does one find joy in suffering?

Before you think I am planning a sufferer's apocalypse, this blog is not all about suffering but within the lines of every post, you'd find a hand reaching out to tell anyone who feels alone in their struggles to say: "You're not alone" Through my writings, I attempt to share those things that often don't make it past our thoughts with the hope that the HolySpirit sheds more light on them for the sake of both the writer and the reader. I pray for one thing, that this blogs takes you one step away from isolation and into the arms of a Father who wouldn't even spare His own son to draw you nearer to Him.
